GETTING STARTED
How do I add friends?
You can add friends by tapping the “Add from Contacts” button in the Friends view, or by sharing your YAPP profile link with them.
How do I update my profile?
Go to Settings → Edit Profile to update your name, profile photo, and other personal information.
How do I update my status?
Tap on your profile image in the Friends view and select “Add a Note” to update your status with a custom message.
YAPPING & CONNECTING
What is yapping?
“Yapping” is our way of saying chatting or talking—it’s how you communicate with your friends on YAPP.
How do I send a yap?
Tap on a friend’s profile to open their detail view, then tap “Send Yap” to start a conversation.
What is 6° Yappers?
6° Yappers shows you friends-of-friends—people you might know through mutual connections.
What does “Too far to yap” mean?
It means the person is outside your yapping range. You can only yap with people who are nearby.
How do I send a wave?
Tap on a friend’s profile and select “Send Wave” to let them know you’re thinking of them.
PRIVACY & SAFETY
Is my location shared?
Your exact location is never shared. We only share your estimated proximity and show that you’re “nearby” to other users.
Can I control who sees me?
Yes. You can block users and control your visibility in Settings.
How do I report someone?
Tap on their profile and select “Report” to report inappropriate behavior.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The app is not working
Try closing and reopening the app, or restart your device. Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
I can’t find nearby friends
Make sure Location Services are enabled for YAPP.
